This bowl, unlike most bowls, is flat and wide with only about 1 inch of depth, if you looked at it in a profile view its side come at a straight angle until it reaches the base, making it in a way triangular. This project being one of my first bowls was somewhat unsuccessful in the form of the project, but disregarding its oddball shape, its actually quite functional and the glaze is somewhat eye appealing. The glaze was layer black first, then white, and then midnight oil, making it black with some light dapple blue specks covering the piece (a glaze I really love). Although the piece is odd and probably wont hold soup very well, it has a rhythmic appearance, and a somewhat functional usability. Creating this project I was able to better learn how to pull the sides in a way that they wouldn't go flat like in this project. All together this project was a successful dud, it didn't fulfill the goal I had in my mind, but did turn out to be a attractive piece that can be used for soap, key, etc.
